We use maple syrup in smoothies for the kids every day. One favorite is this avocado maple-nut smoothie; it's packed with protein from nuts and good fats from avocado.
- 1/2 an avocado
- 2 T almond meal or homemade nut meal with walnuts and sunflower seeds
- 3 T maple syrup
- 3/4 c milk
- 1 T flax meal
If you want more avocado, throw more in, sweeten up with more maple or thicken with a bit of plain yogurt. As long as there is maple, it's hard to go wrong!
